Sample the delights of four different 'paradise' beaches Lots to do, yet plenty of time to relax Explorations by boat - swimming & snorkelling opportunities galore!
Thai Island Hopping After sightseeing in Bangkok, we take a sleeper train south then drive to Phuket and catch a ferry to Koh Racha Yai, our gateway to the fabulous islands of the Andaman Sea. There are more than 130 lying off the Thai coast - most are uninhabited sheer limestone outcrops, trailing a mane of green tropical plants. Koh Racha Yai is a beautiful spot to enjoy the clear waters and white sandy beaches so typical of this area. We take a boat trip around the island with a focus on snorkelling and swimming in the warm seas.
Krabi & Koh Lanta A drive and another ferry take us to Nopparat Beach near to Krabi. Here you can simply relax on the white sandy beach or it's also possible to make a day trip to nearby Phi Phi island, where magnificent limestone cliffs rise sheer out of the water. On Koh Lanta, superb long beaches give way to a steep ridge and forested interior. Its 20,000 inhabitants arrived from Malaysia 200 years ago and give the island its distinct feel.
Relaxing on Koh Hai Continuing, we board a ferry over to the idyllic island of Koh Hai. A favourite for many, much of this little island is a forested National Park. We travel by boat to nearby Koh Muk, from where we can make an adventurous swim through into the stunning Emerald Cave.
